Brave Mundee!

Wonka here.  Dark and on the chill side but we did rise up!  only snoozed through once.  I fairly raced down those stairs I said to Owner I said COME ON Owner it is a brand new day and week and it is December too!  And on our good radio station with nice Mr Evans he did play little donkey and Oh Christmas Tree!!  We love it.

Fresh para to inform you in advance to get your hankies out!!  did you know good folks that today its 70 years ago that there was some kind lady who wanted to honour us animals!! And it was a Maria Dickin in 1943(founder of the PDSA people's dispensary for Sick Animals) who established the Dickin Medal 'to honour the work of animals in war,

Able Seacat Simon of HMS Amethyst, awarded the PDSA's Dickin Medal for gallantry under enemy fire, 1949

Simon - Awarded The PDSA Dickin medal for bravery!!

Date of Award: awarded posthumously 1949
“Served on HMS Amethyst during the Yangtze Incident, disposing of many rats though wounded by shell blast. Throughout the incident his behaviour was of the highest order, although the blast was capable of making a hole over a foot in diameter in a steel plate.”  And you must read all about it here
http://www.purr-n-fur.org.uk/famous/0pix/simon01.jpg  I defy you not to weep!!  I salute my brave ancestors!!

There was only one famous cat awarded this medal, Simon, but many pigeons (hmmm, and mmmm), horses of course folks and not to forget dogs!!  We love them.  now hankies away now.

Fresh and absolutely the final para.  On my beloved Baba's life.  Stop it!!  Now today has gone fairly calmly with several phone calls to get things called QUOTES.  And Owner thinks has a good one, I said do you mean like (quote) you saying 'this cannot be happening!' when the signal failed us last night right in the middle of the results of the hex factor sing off.  BAD ITV!  No said Owner.  She said it is all about getting a rock bottom price for her car insurance but I fell asleep whilst she was explaining sorry.  so she has been fairly busy and only complained about her hair a couple of times.  Ruggles is busy with new routine, calling in twice of an evening and packing it away, maybe resting on the good doormat and growling quietly.  Maybe I said to Owner, Ruggles thinks he's a dog??  Now Simon, our brave cat above has taken precedence (ooer) but we do have a photoshoot of Good Ruggles sitting in what is now his yard.  Owner has explained to Rug that since Golly and Baba are now jollying it up with St Francis it is his yard to rule over.  Me?  I am fine with this, as you know I am not one to hold grudges etc, I like to MOVE ON.  Now tonight we are whizzing from soap to soap and all the excitement of another failed marriage ceremony we think (nice recovered alcoholic Peter and down to earth stroke salt of the earth stroke hard as nails Carla).  And if not overly tired we may watch the fatal results show on catch up said Owner.  Now please go steady in the world wherever you are.  Big Love Wonka x
